so we had two issues that drove us to upgrade car seats - bee wants to now sit up in the car and was miserable in her infant car seat! she is almost 11 months, so this is totally developmentally appropriate. bee is a peanut - only in the 4th percentile and about 16.5 lbs. Which, for her specific car seat parameters, she is still safe in the infant seat. BUT she was SCREAMING every time we were in the car, which is so not like her! so, time to upgrade.
the other issue we were having was that finn wasn’t fitting well into his convertible car seat. we have the clek floo, which has very high safety ratings , but we found it was NOT GREAT for kids on the bigger side. Finn is only 2.25 years, but he is in the 99+ percentile for height and weight (he is about 38 pounds and over 3 ft tall). He BARELY fits in this seat, especially rear facing (which he was until a few months ago). it’s also REALLY heavy and a pain in the butt to install.
SO, we decided to get Finn a new carseat and put bee in the clek.
we went with the graco grows 4 me - very high safety ratings and i was able to use a 20% off coupon at buybuybaby.
Differences between Graco Grows4Me 4-in-1 and 4Ever 4-in-1: , the 4Ever has dual cupholders, an additional head support insert for babies and premium push-on LATCH connectors. So they are basically the same, the Grows4Me is a bit cheaper and I was able to use the coupon (wasn’t able to with 4Ever).
4 seats in 1: 4-in-1 seat gives you 10 years of use--it seamlessly transforms from rear-facing harness (5-40 lb), to forward-facing harness (22-65 lb), to highback booster (40-100 lb), to backless booster (40-110 lb).
